Window Tint Care

Brief Overview

We back all of our window tint with a lifetime warranty, but it's important to make sure you take care of the film properly to ensure it lasts the life of your vehicle!

While window tint care doesn't require much effort, and you may already have suitable products, it's important to pay attention to a few key points!

After Installation

Following your installation, you'll want to make sure NOT to roll your windows down for a minimum of 3 days if your car will be parked outside and in the sun.

If you plan on keeping your car in the shade, we recommend 5 days to be safe. Since the window tint is installed wet, there will always be some residual moisture left in the film that needs to evaporate to ensure full and proper adhesion to the glass.

Failure to do so may result in the film peeling up from the bottom, and this kind of damage isn't covered under warranty.

We'll always install a decal over your window switches to help remind you, and it's good practice to activate your window locks to make sure no one else accidentally rolls them down.

A final note, the moisture under the film can cause some haziness that can last for up to 10 days. If for any reason it hasn't gone away, or you notice anything else that seems odd after 10 days, please don't hesitate to give us a call or swing by!

Key Points

  • Don't roll down windows for 3-5 days.

  • Moisture and haze is normal for up to 10 days

  • Activate your window locks.

  • Rolling your windows down too early can cause the film to peel from the bottom.

  • If anything looks odd after 10 days, please reach out, we're happy to help!

General Care

Window tint is super easy to care for, and shouldn't be anything to stress over! With a couple of minor adjustments to your normal routines, your window tint will absolutely last a lifetime.

First, it's important to note that window tint is always installed on the inside of your windows. This protects the window tint from the harsh weather we get here in Colorado Springs, let alone all the road debris!

Make sure to use a glass cleaner that is marked as ammonia-free or window tint safe! Most aerosol cleaners should do the trick, but stay away from Windex or other similar glass cleaners as they contain ammonia that can damage your tint.

Since window tint is installed on the inside of your vehicle, it keeps it safe from rough weather and debris outside, but be careful about your habits inside. Make sure to place your seatbelts gently to your side when getting out of your vehicle to prevent them smacking into the glass. As a general rule, although tint is durable, try to only touch your window tint with clean hands and soft towels.

It's important to keep these tips in mind, as film failure or damage caused by incorrect cleaning or physical damage is not covered under warranty. Be mindful of your window tint and it will treat you for years to come!

Key Points

  • Window tint is installed on the inside of your windows.

  • Use a glass cleaner that is clearly marked ammonia-free or window tint safe.

  • Be careful when letting go of your seatbelt so it doesn't smack the window.

  • Only clean your windows with a soft microfiber towel.

  • Keep hard, sharp objects away from windows.

  • Physical and chemical damage is not covered under warranty.
